Wish I had discovered this product sooner. After killing a dozen rechargeable batteries over the past year because I relied on a timed charger (probably leading to overcharged cells), the BC-700 will pay for itself many times over. Not only will your batteries last longer per charge (since they are charged precisely to the right capacity), they will also last through many more charge cycles before they lose their utility (if ever). I personally charge at 200MaH when time allows, and at 500maH when I need quicker charge. Anything higher and you may be risking shortening battery life. Should also mention for charging AAA cells, keep it at the minimum setting of 200Mah. When combined with Eneloop batteries (or similar Duracell precharged or Rayovac LSD batteries) this thing is golden. Effective enough that I use rechargeable batteries for the Speedlite on my DSLR camera.
